Insurance

These sections pertain to the issue of insurance and the allocation of risk for the move:

1. CARRIAGE AT OWNER’S RISK:

  • The move is carried out under the contract for carriage at Owner’s Risk.
  • The carrier is not obligated to provide compensation for the loss of or damage to any goods unless it can be proven that the loss or damage was intentionally caused by the carrier.
  • Accepting the job/move with the company implies agreement to conduct the move at the owner’s risk.

2. INSURANCE:

  • Customers are asked if they have cargo insurance included in their House and Contents insurance.
  • If not, they are offered the option to contact the company for a free insurance quote.
  • A note advises customers to keep precious items, gems, bank notes, diamonds, and jewelry with them at all times.
  • Customers are directed to contact JLT Transport for advice on insurance terms and conditions.
  • The contact information for JLT Transport is provided.

3. Terms & Conditions:

  • Customers are reminded that if they are unsure about the size of the truck they need, they can contact the company to arrange a paid or unpaid visit, depending on certain factors.
  • The importance of providing accurate information for selecting the right truck size is emphasized, as extra space or trucks will incur additional costs.
  • It is noted that the price is calculated based on the provided information only.
  • Minor scratches or dents may be present on items, and they may be second-hand goods. Such issues are not covered as a liability by the company, and it is the customer’s responsibility to have insurance in place.

These sections serve to inform customers about the risks associated with the move, the availability of insurance options, and the importance of accurate information when determining the appropriate truck size and potential liabilities. Customers are encouraged to take responsibility for insuring their belongings adequately.
